Less But Better
Let’s start with some good news for Craft Beer. The Drinks Business published a deep-dive this week into the IWSR Drinks Market Analysis, which showed “encouraging signs for the continued recovery and premium-isation of the alcohol category”. One point which stood out is that the recovery is being led by Millennials, who have significant spending power, and a focus on “less but better”.

The Varying Cost Of A Pint
Meanwhile Beer Today report on a CGO survey on the nationwide cost of a pint which ranges from a low of £1.79 in Lancashire, to a high of £8.06 in London! Although these figures were the extreme outliers, it does illustrate a remarkable north/south divide regarding the cost of a pint.

Forgotten Funk
Let’s close with a nice piece on the (somewhat) forgotten wonders of Brettanomyces from our favourite beer author Jeff Alworth, this time writing for Craft Beer and Brewing.
