There are lots of economic data and analysis flying around these days, containing both good and bad news. The Morning Advertiser reports data from Barclaycard showing consumer spending was up 74% over Easter Weekend, compared to 2019.
Of course, this is likely to be due more to the move away from cash, as much as a due to an increase in consumption
The MA also reports from the Coffer CGA Business Tracker which reported that sales in Bars and Restaurants grew significantly more strongly than sales in Pubs in March 2022, again compared to March 2019.
