The Hive Craft Beer & Coffee Shop, 208-210 Dukes Ride, Crowthorne RG45 6DS

The Hive is located in a double shop-front in the High St of the lovely southeast Berkshire village of Crowthorne. If you approach from the West, you will get a sense that this is definitely the posh end of the county, as you will pass some of the largest private houses you could wish to see.

You will also pass Crowthorne station 200 yards before you get to The Hive, which is on the Reading to Gatwick line.

During the day, The Hive’s primary role is to serve as a vibrant coffee shop, with it’s three interconnected seating areas busy with locals. However, what really excites us about The Hive is it’s alter-ego as a Bottleshop and Taproom! (Don’t worry, beers are available all-day!)

The Hive has six keg lines, which serve a well-curated mix of styles, and are often turned over to guest brewers for Tap-takeovers. When we visited last week, they had a residency from the wonderful Rivington, which is a rare sight in the southeast!

However, it is with their amazing range of canned beer that The Hive really elevates themselves into the Premer League of UK venues. The have six tall fridges absolutely packed full of a who’s who of great UK Craft Beers, as well as a vast range of beers on ambient shelving.

Everything about The Hive is classy and well-presented, from the furniture, to the decor, even to the absolutely immaculate bathrooms.
