Finally, Beer Insider draws attention to a fascinating new book looking at Victorian Drink Maps, which were not designed to aid pub-crawl planning as you might expect, but rather to shame local areas with too many watering holes for the temperance movement’s liking! Apparently, a half square-mile in London once had 276 outlets, and the City of Leicester once boasted 844 venues!
