Now this is a really good read! It is easy to underestimate the Pub Curmudgeon, but he is actually a really perceptive observer and commentator on the UK pub scene. This week he takes a close look at pub pricing, in a market where apparently the average Brit now drinks only about 1.25 pints per week in a pub. (Ahem..!!)

German Beer Consumption on the Wane
Finally, here is some good news! It turns out that general reverence for German beer has significantly declined in the past decade. Consumption of German beer is down 6% Worldwide in the decade to 2024, with consumption in Germany itself down 15%. Look, German beers are fine, but please don’t tell us that a Pilsner or a Helles can be compared to a wellbrewed NEIPA or a BA Imperial Stout!
