New Survey On US Drinking Habits
We have an interesting set of links this week, which provide a high-level perspective on the state of the beer scene in 2024. Firstly Beer Today reports on a survey by the Brewers Association on American consumer drinking habits. In summary, more people are drinking Craft Beer in the US than ever before, but Craft Beer drinkers are also drinking other alcoholic beverages in increasing quantities.

Meanwhile the Guardian takes a deep dive into German drinking habits. Whilst consumption is down across the board, it is the younger demographic that is particularly letting their nation down! In especially alarming news, consumption at Oktoberfest 2023 dipped below one litre of beer per attendee!

Finally, the Morning Advertiser reports on a SIBA article about “five beer styles to be aware of for 2024”. To be honest, here at TWICB we couldn’t care less about four out of these five styles, with only “pintable pales” being of any consequence to our drinking rotation.
