Bristol Craft Beer Festival 2024, Harbourside, Bristol
Bristol Craft Beer Festival has been one of the highlights of our early summer Festival calendar for a number of years now.
We attended the Friday evening session, which allowed us to get a mid afternoon train from Reading, and still have time for a couple of warm-up beers in the delightful Small Bar before the Festival opened at 6pm.
The BCBF has a fabulous location on the quayside in the centre of the City, although it is rather reliant on decent weather, as the seating is all outdoors, organised in a semi-circle around the central music stage. This year the site had been reconfigured to move the toilets and food “court” into an area to the left of the entrance as you come into the site, which was a much appreciated improvement.
The bars were set up across four large marquees, with the emphasis being very much focused on West Country breweries, complemented by a decent number of UK representatives from further afield, plus a handful of overseas guests. Highlights for us this year included Dark Revolution, DEYA, Arbor and the always-brilliant Vault City
Unfortunately, although the weather stayed dry, it got extremely cold as the evening sun went down, which is pretty typical of how this summer has been so far. Despite the cold, we had a great evening, and calendars permitting, we will definitely be back next year!
