Rivington Taproom

Rivington Brewing Co. Taproom, Home Farm, Horrobin Lane, Rivington Lancs. PR6 9HE
If you are in search of a craft beer experience that blends exceptional brewing with breathtaking scenery, Rivington Brewing Co delivers in every way. Tucked away on Home Farm in the rolling hills of the Lancashire countryside, this modern taproom offers something few others can match: truly spectacular surroundings.

Founded in 2014 by Ben Stubbs and Mike Richardson, Rivington Brewing Co is based in a converted stable block overlooking the vast Rivington reservoir, with Winter Hill rising in the background. Unlike the typical industrial estate taproom, Rivington offers a calm, rural charm that makes every visit feel special.

The taproom is spacious and full of character, featuring lofty ceilings, bare stone walls, and a handsome stone-topped bar. There are three cask ales on hand-pull and a further fifteen keg taps pouring a wide range of freshly brewed beers, including IPAs, stouts, lagers, and cider. Every style is covered, and each beer is brewed on site, showcasing the brewery’s reputation for quality and consistency.

Beach Street Beer Festival
Outside, the setting continues to impress. Two large covered seating areas are built around a central courtyard, offering panoramic views across the reservoir and into the heart of the Lancashire hills. It is an ideal spot to relax with a pint. A rotating selection of local food vendors provides tasty accompaniments to the beer, making every visit a little different.

Inside, a large TV screen shows major sporting events, and an additional indoor seating area is currently under construction to expand the offering. For those who want to extend their stay, a campsite is available on the grounds. Given the remote location, it is a welcome option for anyone planning to enjoy a few drinks without the worry of getting home.

A major highlight in the Rivington calendar is their annual craft beer festival called ‘Farm Trip’, held over four days in late summer. It is a much-anticipated event for craft beer fans across the country. Beer is served from multiple locations around the farm, creating a lively, sociable atmosphere in a stunning countryside setting. Details are usually shared on their social media channels, so keep an eye out.

Rivington Brewing Co Taproom is open Wednesday and Thursday from 12 to 8:30pm, Friday and Saturday until 9:30pm, and Sunday until 7:30pm. Whether you are a seasoned beer enthusiast or simply looking for a relaxing rural getaway with great food and drink, this place is well worth the trip.
