Exaggerated US Brewery Count?
At Beervana this week, Jeff Alworth has been surveying his own beer scene in Oregon, and based on extrapolating the results US-wide, he thinks that the Brewers Association’s widely claimed figure of 10,000 Breweries in the USA could be exaggerated by as much as 30%!.

EU Countries Produce Less Beer
James Evison at The Drinks Business has been crunching the data on EU beer production, which shows that overall it is down 5%, although the volume would actually be up slightly in Low and No “beers” are included. Apparently the UK imported 800 million litres of beer from the EU in 2023, and we only sent 300 million litres back the other way, thanks to Brexit red- tape!
