Drink Sales Down
Let’s start this week with news from CGA that like-for-like drink sales were down for the fifth week in a row, apparently due to the combination of mediocre weather and the way that the bank holidays fell this year. A lot is riding on the upcoming Euro 2024, to provide a much needed boost to sales.

Meanwhile, over at Just Drinks, Stephen Beaumont whines about the prevalence of Hazy IPAs, and blames the dominance of the king of beer styles for the general slowdown in US Craft Beer. You don’t need us to tell you what utter nonsense this is!

Bulldozing Hops
Finally, a minute’s silence please for the estimated 10,000 acres of aroma hops, mainly Citra and Mosaic that are about to be bulldozed Worldwide, to account for the over-capacity that was planted during the past few years, expecting further growth in Craft Beer which never materialised.
