Borough Beer House

Borough Beer House, 6 Town Hall Buildings, Farnham GU9 7ND

There are few things more pleasant in life than returning to a town after a period of absence only to discover that what was once a very traditional drinking market town now includes a shiny new Craft Beer Taproom!

Such was my experience this week in the lovely Hampshire market town of Farnham. I was visiting for a pre-season football match at Farnham Town FC, and, more in hope than expectation, I did my usual due-diligence before setting out, only to discover that Farnham now proudly boasts a shiny new Taproom, which is an Untappd Verified Venue to boot!

Beach Street Beer Festival
The Borough Beer House opened in Jan 2024, and occupies a lovely historic two- story building in the centre of the old town. The bar is at the rear on the ground floor, with a decent amount of seating, whilst the first floor adds a huge additional seating area covering the whole footprint of the building. There are several really cool tables outside at the front under the cloisters, with three additional outside tables in the lane to the side.

The beer choices are served from 18 keg taps and six cask pulls, with a further four ciders served from bag-in-box. The range was a well-curated selection from leading UK Breweries. In addition there is a large fridge in the bar well-stocked with bottles and cans.

Although the focus of the venue is very much on beer, the venue offers a tasty array of sandwiches and snack boards to ward off hunger-pangs. The Borough Beer House is a brilliant addition to the southeast Taproom scene, and one that you should go out of your way to visit when you get the chance.

Opening Times: Mon – Tue 4-10pm Wed – Sat 12-11pm Sun 12-8pm
